Maize Gene Discovery Project

The NSF project Maize Gene Discovery, DNA Sequencing, and Phenotypic Analysis (PI: Virginia Walbot) involves collaborative efforts of ten laboratories. The goals of the project are [1] to discover maize genes using EST sequencing and engineered Mu (RescueMu) tagging, and [2] to develop new tools to facilitate gene mapping and phenotypic analysis.

All the materials were previously stored at its project web site - ZmDB. Today, the ZmDB website is not longer active. Its content (including EST clones, seeds of mutant plants and microarrays of amplified EST and genomic DNA sequences) has been integrated into MaizeGDB. This page records key documents for the Maize Gene Discovery Project that are still of great interests.
